About The Programme
The West Hub Small Grants Programme is aimed at offering members of the University of Cambridge an opportunity toaccess funds to host social events at the West Hub and take advantage of its state-of-the-art facilities.
Within the West Hub Small Grants Programme are two funds:
| Researchers Fund
The West Hub is excited to invite proposals exclusively from Postdocs and Researchers at the University of Cambridge for events aimed at creating a relaxed and engaging environment for socialisation at the West Hub. We are particularly interested in proposals that focus on guest speakers and encourage cross-departmental interactions. The scope of events includes but is not limited to, talks, discussions, and casual socialising opportunities.
(Guest speakers are not required to present their research as these events are geared towards enhancing social engagement as opposed to professional/academic development)
Each year there will be one round of funding with up to 6 grants being awarded.
| Community Fund
The West Hub invites proposals from the wider University of Cambridge community for events to be hosted at our vibrant venue. We are seeking a diverse range of proposals that cater to various interests and age groups, including but not limited to exhibitions, concerts, sports activities, wellbeing seminars, events for children and senior citizens.
Each year there will be one round of funding with up to 5 grants being awarded.
How To Apply
Applications must be made by using the online form. We recommend visiting the West Hub and speaking to a member of the Events Team to guide you and assist with your application
Deadline for submission, Tuesday 15th September 2026.
Please, feel free to think creatively. We encourage you to visit the facility and discuss your proposal with a member of our events team prior to submitting your proposal. This will give you an opportunity to understand the facilities and services on offer and guidance on developing your proposal to ensure your event achieves its desired outcomes along with advice on what is operationally possible.
